What Do I believe?

I stand for using Religion to better EVERYONE, not to be used as a weapon
I stand for the fact that The Prophets and Jesus spoke out against the domination system, against poverty, against injustice, greed, and hate.
I believe that the Bible is clear today, we need to work to solve the problems of injustice, poverty and environmental disaster.
I believe fundamentalism is bad, especially when it hides behind a suit and a Bible
I believe the Bible is a human product, a reaction to God, and thus is flawed. It can be examined critically and truth can be found.
I belive the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality, but rather celebrates love
I believe that Progressives and Progressive Democrats help us to live out these calls to help those who need our help
I believe I do not know everything about religion, and cannot know everything, thus I study, and try my best to get it right
I believe an eye for an eye is wrong, and thus so is the death peanalty
I believe the witness of Jesus and the Prophets is one of Peace among nations and people, that War is against God's will, and violence is not the answer
I believe that this world, our planet is a gift, and we are the stewards, entrusted to care for it for us, God and our generations to follow
I believe Martin Luther was right on about Grace, but as a flawed human, we cannot take all his words at face value
I believe the ELCA is a fence sitting bunch of people afraid to take a stand, They need to allow partnered gay clergy to serve
I believe we can reach the youth with this message of hope, without beating them over the head witha Bible
Finally, I believe I am flawed, and I am not perfect, but I try my best, and damnit, I seek to reflect God's Love daily
